CAN I CUT MY WIG?

Yes, however if you are considering cutting or thinning your wig, we highly recommend you take your wig to an experienced hairstylist who will advise you on styling & cutting. We can offer this service here at stephen john.

CAN I COLOUR THE WIG?

Our wigs come in many different shades therefor we do not recommend colouring your wig with any dyes or bleach. This may damage the fibre of the wig and ruin it. If you see a wig you like but would prefer it in a different shade/colour please do not hesitate to ask.

HOW DO I STORE MY WIG?

The best way to store your wig is on a wig stand, we stock these in the salon if you would like to purchase one. Not only does this prevent your wig from becoming tangled or soiled between wearing, it also helps to maintain your wigs style and shape. Ideally, your wig should be stored in a clean, dry place, away from dust and sources of high heat or flame. If you do not have a wig stand always store your wig turned inside out and place it in an old shoe box or similar.

HOW DO I WASH MY WIG?

Ideally the best way to wash your wig is in Luke warm water with a very mild baby shampoo or at stephen john we recommend pureology which is a sulfate free shampoo, this will not affect the colour or quality of the wig. We always have this available to purchase in the salon.

Gently swish the wig in the solution of shampoo and water. Do not rub the wig harshly. Refill the basin and rince your wig in conditioner and cold water. Finally rince through with Luke warm water and allow to dry naturally. Do not stretch the wig during washing or drying. Restyle the wig on your head with a soft brush.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A WIG WILL FIT?

Our wig sizing will fit 90% of adult head sizes. The average size ebing 22.5 inches in circumference. All our kanekalon wigs are unisex adjustable sizing. If you have any questions please pop in or give us a call.

Place a tape measure around the widest part of your head and measure the circumstance, if it’s under 24 inches you will find all our wigs comparable.

CAN I USE HEAT APPLIANCES ON MY WIG?

Yes all our wigs are made of heat friendly fibres. The few exceptions being occasional highlights where the colours are not avalible in heat friendly fibres. The new fibres enable you to use heat appliances (curls/tongs/straighteners, hairdryer) up to the heat of 170 degrees.

HUMAN HAIR Vs SYNTHETIC FIBRE?

Some people don’t like the thought of using human hair and with the current developments in fibre production the synthetic hair is of very high quality. Heat friendly fibre enable you to style wigs and hair pieces to your liking. Human hair wigs, pieces and extensions will last longer then synthetic fibre if carefully looked after but, for cost effectiveness, synthetic fibre is much more purse friendly.

PRICES OF WIGS?

Our wigs start from £65 this includes fitting and styling.

Consultations for wigs are £25, although this is excluded if a wig is purchased.
